About our works: From the very first pen that was turned, Double Dip Pen Arts’ pens have been individually numbered in sequence as they have been completed, and all of our pens include a certificate bearing this “serial number” as well as the date of completion, the artist’s signature, and other details specific to each individual pen from our studio. No two of our pens are ever exactly alike since they are individually turned (not mass produced), and we made the decision at the very beginning of turning pens to forego the use of any fixed templates or exact measurements in the creation of our pens. We believe that our exceedingly-high-quality dip pens should be as individual and unique as the creative souls who own and use them, of the highest quality, and serve as pieces of art themselves to be appreciated as well as to inspire; that is a commitment to our customers that we have stood by since the start of our small business. We are now creating specialized pen boxes for our pens, and as with our pens, these boxes are being individually, hand made, one-at-a-time from all natural products – and to the highest standards of artistry and integrity that we can achieve. These boxes are also being registered in a log that we maintain, and signed and dated certification accompanies each box. Note from the artist: For some time I have wished to make pen chests for my pens. This has been a desire of mine for quite some time, and I finally began working on designs and construction of my first boxes in June of this year. This box is the 5th box that I’ve made, and it is one of my “finalized designs” – it is the second completed box of the final form I have decided upon for my pens moving forward. My feeling is that the simple lines of this design allow for greater focus on the woods themselves, and with the solid brass fittings that I’ve chosen to use, they confer a simple elegance that is a wonderful fit with my hand turned pens. The Magnusson styled pen in this listing features beautifully toned Manzaita Burl in the body, and I framed it in Golden Teak, with accent rings in White Holly and Padauk.
