The E1G Edgmon easel box for pastel or watercolors weighs 7.4 lbs and measures 16 x 13 ½ x 4 ¾ when closed. This easel is ideal for pastel painters who use watercolor or alcohol based underpinnings. The easel is positioned behind behind the pastel box, (unlike another common brand with the easel positioned over the pastels) so liquids and pastel dust do not fall directly onto your pastel assortment. The attached easel is fully adjustable from 90 to 180 degrees. Work horizontally with watercolor or other wet underpainting methods, then raise it to vertical to continue working with pastels. The easel slider raises to 20 ½. The box is designed for pastels and watercolors but can be used for acrylics and oils. The box will hold up to 240 full stick Terry Ludwig pastels, 168 full stick Sennelier or Great American, 148 Unison. It is made of Alder wood, sanded, stained and sealed. Brass corners help to protect the box. A standard tripod plate is attached to the bottom. Memory foam inserts provide cushion for the pastels. When the easel is folded down and locked closed, 9″ x 12″ size pastel paper can be stored between the easel and the box. (NOTE: The pastel paper in the photo IS NOT included). A sturdy leather should strap is included. This box has been lightly used and is in very good, used condition.
