SUPERB antique ROWNEY & Co. Watercolour Artists work/paint box. Hi and welcome to my listing for this old antique G. Water colour paint box and contents circa early 1900′s (perhaps earlier) a school or students set. The box itself is wood and measures about 13.75 inches (35 cm) X 9.75 inches (25 cm) and is almost 2.25 inches (6 cm) deep. It is pretty robust and solid the and hinges work. The box has a wonderful colour (wood with black over paint) and patina displaying loads of character and having its original inside label really sets the piece apart. The paint box comes with a lift out tray and its contents as shown seems to be a bit of a mish mash of makers but all of the seem period for example WINSOR & NEWTON artists varnish and turpentine, some oil paints and boxed charcoals. REEVES pastels (with some original contents) and watercolour paint box along with a REEVES pallet…….. There are 7 brushes all with pine handles all numbered and seemingly from the same set. Hopefully an interesting little set for a collector – a nice example. ANY QUESTIONS DON’Y HESITATE TO ASK.
