131 Half Pan Set in Wooden Case. This listing is for a 131 Half Pan Set of Daniel Smith Professional Watercolors. I hand poured the half pans using Daniel Smith Watercolor tubes. The 131 half pans are arranged in a wooden cigar box that I converted into an art case, with a magnetic bottom and a magnetic removable tin tray. I hand poured these half pans and allowed them to dry for about a week before filling them again. For many pans I would repeat the process for a third time. The pans shown in the photos are completely dry. A handful of the pans are closer to a half or three quarters full, but these are in the vast minority. I start by filling each and every pan completely full, some pans dry down so much that I simply run out of paint and cant top them off. The half pans I used for the set have nice thin walls and fit a generous amount of paint. On average I use about half of a 5ml tube to fill a 2ml half pan, with evaporation/drying accounting for the. I labeled each pan with the color name and number, and will include a pamphlet containing the corresponding color information. I also placed adhesive magnets on the bottom of each pan, and placed the pans in a metal tin or wooden case with a metal floor. My main objective is to make an affordable set, with a large variety of colors outside the standard entry level colors from the manufactures, while maintaining functionality and of course just plain looking as nice as possible.
