This is an oil paint box by Roberson, London. I have not seen this type before and it is both beautiful and interesting. It has a very nice large label behind the original palette with the makers name and address. The C in company on the label is obscured by dried paint only, and it may be possible to clean it off. The palette is covered on one side by flesh tones, so I guess it was owned by a portrait painter. Its the first time Ive ever seen a used palette that looks better than a clean one… The tray that held the tube paints has at sometime been repainted but could be corrected. Approx 35 x 25 x 7 CM. The outer box is of a beautiful mellow mahogany and generally is in good condition. Thanks for looking, any questions feel free to ask.
