This is a glorious large early box by the prestigious firm of Winsor Newton. It dates I believe to the 1920s to 1930s although it could be earlier still. Although it has two very stable cracks as shown the box is extremely solid and would if looked after last a lifetime. It is also a large box at approx 43.5 x34.5 x 7 cm. It has its original leather handle which appears strong also its metal liner which is good as these often go missing. Some Brushes and a pair of dippers are also present. The exterior has some bumps and scratches as you might expect but overall it is a very attractive with a deep rich colour. Please bear in mind that this is not one of those 1970s types this is a rare original pochade box and is only the third of this type Ive seen in many years. A lovely rare and useful box.
