Rare Grumbacher USA Studio Assortment Soft Pastels For Artists Set No. 11 In Original Hinged Box. A treasure box of incredible colors. The medium toned wood box has a few scratches but not broken at all. The pastels are mostly whole, but some have been used or cracked, as you can see. It’s an art piece when it simply sets open – a delightful presentation of color. I lurked around to see what artists thought about the old Grumbachers and I found this post. This was a real find! They’re called the Degas set and they come two layers deep in a wooden case. The very old ones are highly pigmented, come in some unique colors, and are consistently soft, like Unisons.
